Social Responsibility

The theme of social responsibility has been growing steadily in recent years and Edalco keeps up with this evolution. To us, social responsibility means more than just awareness, it means making a difference.

To achieve this goal, we incorporate sustainable practices and social responsibility into the company’s daily activities, not only across its construction processes but also through social initiatives and actions.

Social actions

Young Apprentice Program
This program is aimed at the social inclusion and development of young people and is carried out in partnership with the National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI). Edalco sponsors the training of students between 16 and 24 years old in Industrial Learning courses and maintains a 12-month employment contract with them, thus providing income and benefits to these young apprentices. The main goal of the program is to explore the students’ professional skills as building constructors, electrical installers and hydraulic electricians and help them to enter the job market.

Edalco and Olga Kos Institute
The partnership between the Olga Kos Institute and Edalco allows children, young people and adults with intellectual disabilities to develop their talents and improve their quality of life. For this, Edalco enables the program participants to use the construction hoarding around its building sites to express their artistic talent through painting and graffiti adding a touch of beauty to the surroundings.

Corporate Sustainability

Sustainability is a concept that should permeate all activities of a company, as well as its relationship with employees, the environment and customers.

For this reason, Edalco created a Sustainability Department, which works to find solutions and innovations in all these areas, going beyond the construction concept to develop market solutions.

Quality Certifications

Being always attuned to the changes in the industry, current laws, latest market trends and customer expectations, Edalco began the implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and PBQPH Brazilian Program for Habitat Quality and Productivity in 2009. In that same year it received its first quality certification – ABNT NBR ISO 9001.

In 2013, Edalco’s construction sites began focusing on improving their environmental performance and the company hired expert consultants for the implementation and monitoring of environmental management applied to the construction industry. In 2014, by decision of Edalco’s board, the environmental management concept was expanded to all company departments. This led to the ISO 14001 certification in 2015, which incorporated the company’s Environmental Management System into its Quality Management System.

The attainment of ISO 9001, PBQPH and ISO 14001 certifications raised Edalco’s bar in the domestic and international markets and today it is recognized as a company that values the quality and sustainability of its products and services and encourages its partners and suppliers to work according to these principles.
